Oct13 - Panzermann wearing cufftitle - 4 - I believe the same Panzermann in civilian clothes is on the right of the Fallschirmjaeger. He is wearing a Black wound badge on his jacket and the man on the left of the FJ is wearing a silver wound badge.

that's a really cool photo bill. I don't remember the last time I saw combat related badges being worn on civi clothing.

Not commonly seen...normally stickpins were worn on their lapels.

Oct13 - Panzer NCO wearing Afrika CT and mechanics with a two hilferin?

            Hello Peter,
Thanks....and you are correct. RKT Ludwig Bauer was able to ID both of these men. The man on left is Leutnant Battalion Stabs-Artz - Dr. Ilkow of I./Pz. Rgt 33. He was a former member of Panzer Rgt 3.

Bauer said that he at first thought the man on right was a man named Lt. Giesse (zugfuhrer) who looked a bit like Gruner, but ultimately decided he thought it was Gruner. I believe this is a photo of Gruner, late 1940, early 1941. The man in the background with back turned is Major Walter Rodlich.....which my photo grouping indirectly came from. The date coincides with Rodlich's time w/ Pz. Rgt. 33, and also would be before Gruner had even earned the EK1. thanks for commenting and confirming mine and Herr Bauers' suspicions.

Here is another photo from the W. Rodlich/Panzer Rgt 33 group. Do you see any other officers you could ID?
