    Who are these men ?

    Hallo,

I've bought these two photos together.
German trucks, German drivers but other men with black berets...
    Who are these men ?
On facebook someone mentioned about the bezen perrot (ss unit).

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Oorlogsspullen.

These look like captured French troops, possibly Chasseur Alpin, mountain troops, but someone more expert may be able to correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you Martin, I should have said, I also think the second photo is from another time. The weapons do show that the troops are not prisoners.

          Could they be from Spain?

I have found a site run by a gentleman called Andre Jouineau, called Images de Soldat. I attach a small scan of French chasseurs from the 1914-era. Note the beret badge, the collar patches and the cuff chevrons. I know it is an earlier uniform, but the style does lead me to believe that the second photo does indeed show French mountain soldiers,

I have researched what can be seen of the weapons, I believe that they are French M1916 Berthier mousquetons, or carbines.

                  Not italians for sure.
I agree they must be french mountain troops.
