I have never seen this photo before, however, everything looks quite new, are you sure this is not a contemporary photo touched up to look like an original? Almost looks like a reenactor or Staged. It is interesting in that he is holding a weapon, but has no other gear present, and in this post the close up the gloves are perfectly visible. I have never seen another photo in which these gloves are so visible. I am just skeptical, I do believe the gloves are originals, the ones in question, however, i'm just not sold on the photo being wartime, unless you have some provenance.

Scott, who knows, but it isn't touched up, it is old and color faded. Got it from a guy in New Mexico who had it since the early 60's. Never cared so never thought about it, just interested in the gauntlets.
            regards

of course there is the option this is somebody who posed in the 60s - but even if, he still used original stuff ;-)

Is this a print of colour slide?

It does look like you typical print from a 1960s 126 automatic.

Could be some-you out hunting with all the cool nazi gear his great uncle just gave him?

It's an old print, not a slide, but I don't think that forested area was in New Mexico, however I would still like a set of the gauntlets.

note = I also got a 35mm camera from another vet long ago that still had a roll of undeveloped film inside, which I developed many years ago. The roll of Agfa 35 mm film showed 4 Gefreiter's on leave. Prints showed a bay with sailboats taken from a cliff, a house they stayed in, and some eating apples on the beach, one while leaning on a sign that said Cherbourg 15 km. I don't remember where they were when he took the camera and a pair of binoc's from the 4 guys and ushered them back toward the beaches. I hope they survived, talk about wrong place, wrong time
