Anyone Know Where This Photo Was Taken?

This photo has been around, and I have always wondered where it was taken.
Anyone know, and does anyone have current-day pics of this location?

Could it be the Schloss in Heidelberg ?

Gerdan, could be, I could not find any pics taken from a similar location.

Pic is wartime, and I would have to believe it was taken in Germany, given the SA man.

Looks like it was taken on a Castle tour somewhere....and Germany has lots of castles. The church steeple in the backround may be a clue to those who know Europe.
