Did Hitler Ride a Horse ?

Did Hitler Ride a Horse ?

I know it might sound funny but was hitler ever photographed riding a horse ??
I think he had his own private horse at one time or another called Nordlicht.

    Never saw one before ?

    Thanks.

                    Did Hitler Ride a horse?

I have never seen a photo of Hitler riding a horse. I have never heard of him being interested in equestrian activities. However, I do recall seeing propaganda art work of him dressed as a knight in armour, with a lance, riding a horse. Given how fond totalitarian leaders are of equestrian statues, it is also surprising there are (were) none of him. There is no mention of an interest in horses in any of the memoirs of his staff. Since riding was associated with the aristocracy and officer class, towards whom Hitler was not favourably disposed, it seems likely that horsemanship did not fit with the image he wished to project.

By the way ,your collection of color slides is truly remarkable, and destined to be an invaluable resource for historians in the future. it is extraordinary that the germans are prepared to part with them so easily. but then, in the words of Hanna reitsch, "Most Germans are ashamed about the war. But what they are truly ashamed of is that they lost".

He never rode. He said he admired the beasts but something about them unsettled him.
