I think what Viscount meant for 4 and 7 was Sopwith "One and a half strutter",

The name 'One and a half Strutter' was often shortened to 'Strutter'.

Thanks Robert, I had never come across that shortening before. Strangely, my father oversaw the fitting of a Lewis gun to a replica of this model of Sopwith. It was made by RAF apprentices in the early 1960s when my father was a Flight Lieutenant in engineering/armaments. He only ever referred to it as a one and half strutter, but he was old-school I guess. It always pained him that, because they could not get the rigging right, they had to add an extra strut to make it sit right. My grandfather also flew Sopwiths in 1918, but Dolphin armoured fighters, having formerly flown as an observer in Bristol Fighters, or Brisfits as he called them, the same sort of shorthand I guess.
