    Rommel related picture

    This picture was given to a friend of mine by Helmuth Hofmeister (taken by him) of Rommel and Gen von Bischmark. He was a staf officer to Rommel. Can anyone please provide me with more info on Hofmeister and identify the third officer in the picture (maybe Maj. Bach).

    I would also appreciate if someone can translate the back for me? It involves South Africans. many thanx . Jacques

    Rommel with Gen. von Bismarck, div. commanderof the 21st Panzer Div., who died soon afterwards. The 21st PD was often involved in bitter combat with South African units: Tobruk-Sollum/Halfaya *(S.R. 104 Maj. Bach)-El Alamein 1941-43. *my unit

      Thank you for the translation. Any information on Hofmeister? I know it is a long shot. Apperently he was involved in intelligence. jacques
