          Hi Jason;

          Something like "Aufnahme: Sonsabd. (don't know what it stands for), 5.8.39, gegen Mittag (almost noon), am Bug der Levance (must be the name of the ship), auf der Uberfahrt nach Königsberg"

            Second picture could be translated as "Picture: Sunday 6.8.39 at 13.00 PM, ... (must be a name or something ?) at a blistering heath in the port/harbour of Königsberg"

              Thank you very much Tim . I think that translates to something like, "Picture taken,Saturday(?) August 5th 1939 at almost noon. On the bow of the Levance after crossing towards Königsberg" Does that look right?

                No problem Jason.

                Your translation is almost correct. "after" should be "while".

                      And for my #1000 post a picture of a musician running. There is some writting on the back that may help me figure out what is happening in the picture if anyone can translate it.

                        Here is the inscription. Anyone able to tell me what it says?

                        Please keep posting on this thread any pictures you have of a German band or musician. Drop me a line if you have any to sell too.

                            To post photos Tex, you need to be an association member. Best $25 I have spent on this hobby.

                            These next two pictures are from the Time Life book "The SS". I wish I owned the originals to these but this will have to do. Enjoy and keep posting if you have any German band or musician photos.

                              A dance band that was part of the Leibstandarte's music corps, which also played at the 1936 Olympic Games.
