Post your photos of Officer's/NCO's in their summer white tunics

Couldn't find a thread on this yet, so post away. Kriegsmarine, Heer, Luftwaffe, and SS, post them all.

Here are a few of mine to start things off...

First a couple color slides. Sightseeing in Biaritz.

Interesting topic... Here are my contributions. The first image shows General Heinrich von Vietinghoff in his summer white tunic. At the time of this image (1941) he was commander of the XXXXVI Panzer Corps on the Eastern Front.

The officer with the hat in this 2nd image is Luftwaffe General (later GFM) Robert Ritter von Greim who at the time of this image (1941) was commander of V. Fliegerkorps on the Eastern Front.

Funny, that von Vietinghoff picture wearing the summer white tunic, while the two guards are bundled up like it's freezing.

                        Yes, I noticed that, also.

Also, what kind of boots are they wearing? Looks like very big ones :-)

When my dad was in the military in Alaska, they had "bunny boots" (they were white color). They were huge too.

A lot of American soldiers forget to open the insulation air valve on their bunny boots prior to flying, resulting in a boot exploding while they're airborne.

Don't know if the German boots in the photo also had air valves.
The American version wasn't invented until the time of the Korean War.

That's funny. The German overboots were made of a thick felt-like material similar to the padding used inside some furniture of the time, and they had wood soles. I have a mannequin set up that looks almost exactly like the two guards in that photo, and he's wearing a pair.
