Check this latest knocked out German Panzer photo. A recent ebay sale? I'm absolutely amazed someone paid this much for an Official photographer photo! It's not even a Panther or Tiger!! - Bill

It's all about Mr. Sudek, he's trying to get every good photo on ebay... Being there late, he has to pay as much as possible... I can't blame him because when I started five years ago I bid in somewhat similar manner. My good friend Bill A. wanted to get that Möbelwagen photo for his next book "at any cost", but failed... Mr. Sudek buys "at any cost", which is higher.

Good time for sellers, but I have stopped competing against him because it just inflates price AND I can't get it... Nowaday it's better to put "reasonable" bids on some obscure photos on which you need an eagle eye to identify!

Bill, a Möbelwagen is FAR rarer than a Panther or a Tiger and we are ready to pay a good price.

          Akira,

I understand the need to find a rare photo but that is an official photographer taken photo which means there probably is more than one around.
I just don't get it and probably never will unless I become filthy rich pretty soon. I can still find two entire photo albums for what he paid for one photo. You are right to say it's a good time for the seller and I bet he is one happy fellow. Bill

          Mike,

Alot of us are in early on some of these photos but then the bidding gets ridiculously high and you would have to sell your house in order afford them today. There are still some reasonably priced photos but you have to have some luck now a days. Bill

            Mobelwagen Pic

Not only is it rare photographed vehicle (compared to the big tanks) but it sports a camo scheme unseen on the mobelwagen - the disc camo has only been seen on a few vehichles, mainly panthers and pzIVs. So I can understand why someone wanted to snatch this photo up. Gotta love how today's technology has helped the hobby.

                  1. This Tiger II served with a famous unit in a very well known
engagement. Name the unit and engagement?

                  2. On display today in a well known museum. What museum?[/QUOTE]
