Bill I hope you don't mind me posting a few US Army Signal Corps Photos once in awhile on this thread. I have a bunch of photos showing knocked out German armor and it would be a shame not to include them for people to see. If you think it doesn't belong here just have the moderator delete it. No worries on my end. Thanks.

This photos was taken somewhere in the Ardennes Dec. 1944.

      Remy,

I don't mind as they still technically meet "The view through the eyes of GI's - Knocked out German Armor" criteria but if 50,000 postings of Signal Corps photos are made it might be a bit too much

The real intent is post photos that were taken by the GI themselves and coming from their wartime photo albums/scrapbooks etc.

Be sure to watermark the photos so they can't sell them on e bay...many steal photos from here to copy and resell...and make a good living at it with no risks and it would be a shame to not see them...yes.

Not the best image but how many times do you come across knocked out panzers in the Normandy hedgerow country? Taken by PFC. Willard Taft of the 67 AFA 3rd AD.

            Juoneen,

Not sure that your statement about many are reselling images on ebay is true.

I know of one case where it was discovered that someone was selling images on ebay and we shut him down quick. If you know of any others please bring it to light on the forum.

There are threads here on WAF that discuss images being taken from this forum without permission (watermarked or not) and used on other websites. Nothing much can be done about that practice and the member posting the image must understand that it will happen. The only way to protect your images is to not post your images at all on the forum...your choice.

            Bill

From the same album as the last one I posted. I am leaving the description that PFC Taft included.

This Tiger was the 1st company commander's of s.Pz.Abt. 501, and we know precisely the spot it's sitting on, and why it was destroyed.

Not sure if I have posted this one or not but it was taken by a Capt. Adams 1st AD AFA. Taken at the Anzio Beachead.

Possibly from Ebay, anyway, someone owns
                            them, thus the marks.
