                      Thanks for the welcome. Did you see the few shots I posted on page 18 as well?

                      Its interesting to see the GI's refer to the kettenrad as a "Doodlebug"!

                      Here is a shot from my collection that I do know a bit about.

                      The info I have was it was taken very close to VE day (So April/May 1945) near the town of Kronach. No details of the german unit, just that the US unit were from the 2nd Cavalry Recon Group, attached to Pattons third Army.

They are truly great pics....I love the Jagdtiger shot Nice surrender shot....I have some that took place in various locations but no vehicles to be seen so I didn't post them.                               two days ago i won 2 auctions on ebay depicting disabled halftracks in pettoncourt, france 44 incl. a rare 251/21 variant, but lost this pic. seller was so kind to donate a scan...

                                Your pic #283 is the same captured officer in my pic #273. Take a look at the Jeep with the helmet on the side, the rolled towing cable and the bags piled in the back of the Jeep. Bill
