    From an Inf. Rgt. 154 (58 Inf. Division) album which belonged to a Hauptmann Hartig.

    Hartig is at right in this photo.

              Personally i dont have any photos, but i believe my great grandfather was in that division so it interests me.

                    Thanks for posting those! I especially like the one of the "Niedersachsen Heim." That was probably taken during their time in the Volkhov swamps in the spring of 1942. The ground was too wet to build underground bunkers, so the various German and German-allied forces (Dutch, Flemish, Spanish) built log blockhouses for defenses.

                      The album is nicely put together with some nice personal touches.
                      It is well captioned and I apologise for not posting captions with the photos.
                      I am not good at translating handwriting and any help with translations would be greatly appreciated.

                      The album seems to be cavalry related and Hartig may have been attached to the staff of an Oberst Schoefeld?

                      I will post a selection of photos with captions over the next few days for your comments.
