Dear Members,
your forum is very informative and interesting, congratulations!
I would like to introduce myself. I am 45 years old man and live in Germany. I hope this is not a problem for you, but it explains at least my poor English.
I want to show you this photo with letter. It shows Rudolf Hess, deputy to Adolf Hitler. In the photo is the original signature of Hess.
The translation of the letter: “the Deputy of the Fuehrer send you as a reminder for the young Rudolf his image with signature” It is from Munich, Braunes Haus.
I will try to give an interpretation:
There are two facts in the letter. One fact is the date. Aug, 25th 1938. This is about a year before the outbreak of WW II. Almost all Germans were very excited at the time of Hitler, his aides and the party NSDAP
The second fact is the name of the recipient of the letter. His name is Willy Hess, an identical surname as Rudolf Hess.
Because of the racial madness of the Nazis, genealogy was very popular. I believe that either Hess family believed to be related to Rudolf or tried, because of their last name, to get a gift (such as the autograph) of Rudolf Hess. Has indeed worked.
I have found with many other documents under a budget resolution.
With the letter and the signature I think it is very rare!
Actually, I do not collect such things, so if anyone is interested, please contact me.
Kind regards
Namreg
