Wouldn't his name be Otto Enke?
Since that is the name that is on the cover of the diary...
      Just a guess.

      With kind regards,

      Koen.

Edit: Seen that that isn't possible.

Very interesting diary. I just finished translating my grandfather's account of the capture of Koenigsberg and his subsequent imprisonment in a Soviet death camp.

Soviet death camp ? How did he survive it ? Did the Soviets let him go from that death camp ?

I know that the Nazi death camps were liberated by the allies, and that that liberation was the main reason that there were camp survivors at all.

                              Hi Eric-Jan,

It is a long story, but he was sent to three camps, including the notorious Lager Stablack, near Preussisch Eylau, where recently mass graves containing tens of thousands of corpses have been found. The descriptions of the events which happened to my grandfather after he surrendered with the garrison at General Lasch's HQ defy belief, and describe in minute detail the outright brutality and sadism of the Soviets. I can only confirm one other survivor from the group which was sent with my grandfather to Stablack. I also think it is high time for some recognition for the victims of Allied war crimes committed towards the end of and after the last war, instead of constantly hearing about the Jewish holocaust.
