    Church service in the field - ID Divisional Chaplain??

    Hi guys, this just in....

    A great field service - I believe the description says this is the Divisional Chaplain? Any info about this would be greatly appreciated...

          i have 1 or 2 with priests, usually just standing in a field etc... saying mass to the crowd.
          I reckon the date is 21.6.41, the day before Barbarossa began, and the unit is Auf.Abt.45, part of 45.Inf.Div. This division's task was to take the fortress of Brest-Litovsk and it suffered enormous casualties in doing so, which makes this photo particularly poignant.

              Thanks for all the comments and info guys - I don't collect WW2 photos, but HAD to have this when I saw it!!! And yes Jason Auf.Abt.45, part of 45.Inf.Div an assault on Brest-Livosk makes perfect sense as Terespol is only a matter of kms from there.
