    Peiper signed photo's?

I guess these are not common, but i'm quite sure that they exist.
Any idea were to find them? Price estimate?

    Thanks,
    Nico

I would assume probably very high for a price as he was a very notable officer. I would estimate along the same value as Michael Whitman or someone along that caliber.

      Best of luck.

        Peiper

There might be a small number of signed photos, but they are extremly rare and would sale for more than 1000 Euro's.
The same with Wittmann (even higher).
The most autographs that are offered for these two names, are questionable.

I couldn't agree more. As a result of their awards for bravery (and premature death in Wittmann's case) both of these men command extremely high prices. In particular Wittmann. Consequently, they are both subjected to having their signatures commonly forged. I would even go as far as stating that authentic autographs are very few and far between. The autographs of Wittmann, as the bravest and most famous SS panzer commander, are nearly always fake, and those genuine examples of Peiper are almost always post-war.

            Thanks guys for the updates.

I found this on the web and the seller is asking $600 for it.
But indeed, how to find out if it is good....

Maybe I should try to find a by him signed awards document?

I'm surprised how many highly sought after signatures show up on Blank Paper over the years.....I was always on the understanding, these guys were busy fighting the enemy! You could be waiting Many many years for Award Documents with these Sigs but its more likely to be Original if you do get lucky

                Hi Nico,

The version you show us here is the version that is most often shown to be a fake.

Better to find an award document signed by him.
A postcard that did really run by the Feldpost and was sent to a HJ boy.
                A letter.
                Or a postwar signature.

And even then, be careful !

The example you show is definitely one I would not want to add to my collection. Take the advice given here and wait for a good signed document.

That example you show looks like it comes from Stefan Korlin. If it does, then you should not fear about its authenticity. Despite what many on this site say about him, he is an honest chap in my opinion and I get many of my signatures from him.

My Peiper was obtained through him.

How rare is just an original Wittmann photo without an autograph?

It's indeed coming from Korlin....Seems that I need to do a search on my through some old posts....

                          Thanks for the info, guys.

I think the best way is to do a search for a signed awards document, although I think that this will not be simple either....

Genuine examples do show up from time to time, but they are not common. The last authentic Peiper I saw on a document was last year, but it sold very quickly. I have two authentic Wittmann signatures on documents, but they are even more rare.
