SS Feldpost and POW Dachau post

I got this last Saturday at the flea market as I thought it was unusual to find POW post from Dachau (about 25-30 letters and documents). After looking through the stack I found that SS Feldpost was in the stack for SS Uscha Fritz Ruf. In the POW post he is given as Uffz Fritz Ruf as apparently the SS rank could no longer be used.

Can anyone identify Feldpost Nr. 45988? This is the number on the SS Feldpost.

Ruf was first in Dachau as a POW, then moved to Bad Aibling and then moved elsewhere. There is a telegram where he states that he has been released and appears to be dated 18 Sept., 1946.

POW post received by Ruf in Dachau, note that it was censored in May, 1946!

a very brief telegram to his wife "I am free 18.9 Mannheim please suitcase with civilian clothes, love and greetings Fritz Ruf" We can assume that it was 18 September, 1946, but the year is not given on the telegram.

hucks 216 thank you! Possibly he was wounded at the end of the war and was in the SS Lazarett in Dachau. Many of these were executed but it was not a nice place to be a POW as a former SS soldier.
