I found him in the Volksbund list:

            Johannes Sachse

They did not find his grave till now.

His grave should be in: Ort: Mustolowo Ssinjawino - Rußland

            Nachname:Sachse
            Vorname:Johannes
            Dienstgrad:Schütze
            Geburtsdatum:20.12.1914
            Geburtsort:Glogau
            Todes-/Vermisstendatum:22.09.1941
            Todes-/Vermisstenort:Ssinjawino

              Hi Gerdan,

Thanks for the translation. Regarding #3473, is it some sort of a memorial card for a man killed in action? Were you able to read what was on the back of the photo of Sachse's grave? They didn't find his grave, so that means his grave marker that we see in the photo, was removed and thus he rests in an unmarked grave now. Is that correct? Was there a unit mentioned on the grave marker?

Translation: Dear Käthe, the picture shows the resting place of my Hans at the cemetery near Schlüsselburg. You can see where the bullet hit the helmet.

                  1) The uncle's first name I read "Oswald"

                  2) This I found pertaining the German military cemetery Schlüsselburg:

"Während des Kriegs wurde für einige Hundert der bei Mag und Schlüsselburg gefallenen
deutschen Soldaten in der Nähe der Kirche ein Friedhof angelegt."

During the war for about 100 German soldier KIA near Mag and Schlüsselburg a cemetery was set up near the church.

                    Hi Gerdan, Trebes,

Thanks for the translation. Was Schlusselberg in East Prussia or was that the German name for the Russian town near where he was killed. Hmm that helmet sure didn't help Hans too much now did it.
