Is this image scanned in black and white? If it's scanned in color, I don't like the card.

        Please advise.

it is on a auction site so i can not scan it but is done in black and white. that is a picture the site put up but they said it was in black and white. I do not know what the 150 is for. i was wondering what that symbol around the 1940 was supposed to be.

The Arpke Spende card is a common Willrich card. The symbol you refer to along with the 1940 is the stlylized signum of the artist Wolf Willrich.

This appears to be an ok card pictured in an auction catalogue. Be aware that reprints do abound, but odds are this is an ok speciman.

Value should be around 15 to 25usd. The same card appearing in the E (E 34) series is the most difficult of this image to find. Usually the Spende card and the Card in P1R10 series will be the easier examples to find.

As for the Nazi and 1.50 marginalia on the reverse, I suspect the card was being catagorized by a dealer as a "Nazi" card with a value or a price 1.50. I don't think there's a mystery beyond that.
