I think I have a handle on the difference between a private and commercial portrait postcard. Often the subject matter is ovvious. A common soldier vs say Hitler in a portrait will usually mean one is private and one is commercial. I find the commercial ones will have some writing on the front or back describing the subject. The private ones will often be on paper such as Agfa, Mimosa etc. However, I have often seen subjects that aren't a individual, family or wedding portrait, but seem to be a private postcard. Maybe a ceremony, a funeral etc. Who would have had these done? Is there any other way to tell the difference?
