I was wondering what could be on top of the stug in #30 and I saw the same barrel in another pic #43 as well.

My guesses,

1) preheated oil to start the vec in winter
2) a container to hold the special hydraulic fluid the gun.

Hi, after all I think it's just a compressor stored on the Stug for transport, it has handles it seems.
