Below is a photo of the Robert Ley. She was I believe a hospital ship. Could someone give me a brief history of this ship? Also, would someone be able to translate the writing on the back. It looks like the writer attempted to use every inch of the card for writing.

The Robert Ley's maiden voyage was in 1939 and it was a KdF ship -- "Kraft durch Freude" -- a ship meant for cruises for the masses. Here are a couple of pictures.

Great photos. She looked like she was a beautiful ship. So she was only used as a KdF ship and not as a hospital ship, is that correct?
