Knights Cross book? - has anyone seen anything like this?

I have a large book with the covers looking like a knights cross award document. You can see a picture of this...and my collection at www.avalancheware.com the book in question i accesible via the last link on the left.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I have been told it is most likely a knights cross document that has been fabricated and turned into a photo album. The photos currently in it ar not war related. Could this have been a book for another purpose originally? Everything apears to fit perfectly.

There are many people on this Forum who know alot about Knights Cross award documents. From a laymans point of view you seem to have a wonderful collection which is well reseachred. Well done. Your Grandfather had a very good eye for what to bring home from the war!

The RK documents look very interesting, in particular Heinz Bretnuetz, whom I believe was KIA on the opening day of Barbarossa.
