Another request to ID a uboot kaleun.

Can someone help me to identify this uboot commander? All I know is that he holds the rank of kapitänleutnant.

Also can someone tell me what the best way is to identify these pictures. Do you use specific reference books, and if so, which ones? I tried it myself with internet and mainly uboat.net but not all commanders have pictures there.

HUmmmm did you get this photo by any chance, recently (like the past 2 months) from ebay? I have a photo with a KL with the same scarf on with the same bridge setting (that knobby thing on the left)
