      Hello Sergey
Very interesting photo like all those displayed in this post.
When looking yours, I have the feeling that this scene was photographed for porpaganda purposes. The 2 SS corpses seems to be put there on dispaly. Notice also how the SS schield seems to be show to the viewer.
Just a gut fdeeling in fact. What is your opinion ?
      Regards
      Denis

Civillian losses - Dresden after an unexpextedly hot night in early 1945 /some call this operation a big triumph for the bomber forces, others consider it one of the biggest warcrimes in this war... same for "Bomber" Harris - a great military leader or a mass murderer.../. Anyway, think what you want, just keep in mind that the copyright for these pictures belongs to http://www.pilotenbunker.de and the PB site's owner.

          Dresden, 1945:

                just my 2 cents worth!

Regarding the photo posted by Sergey with the surrendering Germans and the two dead Germans (1 SS) laying out front, that picture has been published before, as I've seen it a few times over the years. I agree that it is probably from a Russian propaganda film or photo.

Hi Steve, it is 100% propoganda photo for newspaper, but in any case all what do you see at that photo is true of war.

                      Dresden

Dresden happened. I read years ago because Allied recon photos from the air saw massive troop trains in Dresden as it turns out these were refugee trains from Prussia loaded with German civiliams.
War is hell and this was one big cluster f---.

                          Werner,

I just noticed your thread. Casualties of War and Dead on all sides. I had also thought about starting a thread about this since I have a few photos showing this side of the war. I had traded some rarely seen pics of German Dead taken by their own Kamerads to a friend of mine but I still have a few.

Here is one that I have available. A drowned SS Camp guard at Dachau KZ. Most likely done in by the Camps inmates.
