he requested permission to re-join the Luftwaffe and did so in late 1943 and this is him wearing the same awards on uniform. this photo would have been taken some time during 1944

and of course the commemorative badge is also in the centre of his miniatures needle....I will try and take better close up images this weekend....the ones I took here are just aweful...you can see a lot more in 'real' life than you can see on these current pics I took... Cheers, Torsten.

Outstanding!! As Humberto stated, this is only the second picture of this badge in wear that I am aware of.

Hi TerryG, i think that badge is for the Berlin Olympics 1936.
This could either have been a sovenerigh or a membership badge to a olympic team? im not sure.
Plus the edelweise could just be a odd addiction or maybe to do with the team sport he played in?

The lower badge is obviously one of these but what about the top one?

ok, he is wearing a uniform, but it is a Stahlhelmbund uniform and this is a civilian organisation and so, I would think this counts within the remit of this thread? Cheers, Torsten.
