    Funeral Pics

    Hello Folks,
Just picked up a group of period pics.
2 unusal types, seem to show a 'high roller' burial,
what with all the swastika silks. Thing is, one of the
2 is stamped POW camp MC C???.
Processed in the camp / or sent home from there? in
    censored mail?
Whats that sash with eagle swastika and American
    Engineer type castle?
    Lots of any help appreciated.

Okay guys.... I think the pics are to big,
Can someone please do the honours via e-mail...

It says "funeral of Kurt" and not "von Kurt", so it's his first name and not his last name

                Thanks Tim,
Looking for Von Kurt, might have brought a
few leads, but Kurt only, is like looking for John

I think its military, because in the top right of another picture
you can see a coffin bearers lower half, and he's wearing
service trousers and polished other ranks jackboots.
However, its obviously not a field burial and could be someone
who died of wounds in a Reich hospital.

Its also been suggested the the POW camp is Camp Mc Cain missouri,
and that the stamp would be for inward mail from Germany, as part of a
care package? Does anyone know more about this camp and when it
                was set up /closed - 1942-48?

                Cheers. John

                  John,

The funeral sash badge is the Third Reich era version of the city crest (Stadtwappen) of Munich. I've seen photos showing that same badge as the sleeve insignia of Munich streetcar conductors.

                  Cheers,
