I just bought this doc from Manions and I know we have been warned away from them but I couldn'r resist. When I compare this to say a EK 2 doc the paper feels a littler thinner and just a tad rougher. The Keitel sig is grainy and the typed words are lighter. Any thoughts? I am new to this and trying to learn if I found a gem or got burned. Thanks all!!

Did you check the name and unit before you bought it?
I'll assume you didn't unless you have specialist knowledge. The reason i ask is because the name doesn't appear in Scheibert's list of DK holders and i can find no reference to a s.Art.Abt.734 at all.Last edited by Simon O.; 08-12-2005, 04:41 PM.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Hello ahnenerbe,
Thank you for sharing the scans. If I recall correctly the last I saw that DKiG doc was at the Max in Pittsburgh a number of years ago. The dealer had it on top of his sales table and was asking between $275-300. With the tempting asking price I thought over the purchase, but in the end passed on it. I have also looked through my sources and cannot find anything on either the recepient or unit. Maybe he does exist, but for a questionable 1944 issued DKiG doc which is not verified in known sources and a price that is to good to be true, those raise a red flag IMO. If you do not have them already, with time assemble all the reference works you can get ahold of in your collecting area of interest. Although some works are more handy than others having them will help you avoid some of the pitfalls most collectors have made along the way. Plus, it never hurts to ask on the forums before you buy.
Regards
