Do you have any photographs that link this lion head sign to Flak Abteilung 85?

The sign looks almost similar to that of a Schützenkompanie.
Maybe a transport zug and the number stands for the vehicle in the convoy??

I already use this website for many years.
It is of great help but does not solve all unknown unit signs.
For tactical signs i also use my own 1941 original booklet.

                  Best regards, Edwin.

                    Hello all,

I need some help identifying this unit / division sign on the following picture.
It belongs to a Heer Unit and did service in Holland / Belgium in 1940, it belongs to the Staff car of a Infantry Division General.

Thanks again, best regards and stay healthy!

                      Hello,

                      it is the 256.Infanterie-Division.

Tactical Sign is maybe a sign for staff (Stab)

                      Greetings

So this must be the staff car of Generalleutnant Gerhard Kauffmann, now i can identify him in the picture.

                        Best regards, Edwin.

                          Hi all,

This is my first post so I hope I have found the right thread! I recently bought a large job lot of some 140 WW2 German photographs and I've hit a few dead ends whilst sorting through them. Does anyone know what unit/branch these men would have been in? Various searches for aspects of their kit have given me nothing.

                          Cheers,

                          J

                            Hello,

                            is the wrong thread

i think, the soldiers are wearing a sport dress (Sportschutzanzug/Trainingsanzug).

Is the national badge (Hoheitsabzeichen) on the correct side?

                            Greetings
                            Oliver

The Lion head emblem can also be seen on this " Stabswagen ".
