Aug13 - Italien Monte Catini Portrait Group - 4 - I'm thinking that this soldier was possibly a mechanic in a Panzer unit in Italy as one of the soldiers in coveralls is wearing a Panzer side cap.

I agree with your panzer mechanics hypothesis.

This are the unit that were in Montecatini (In Tuscany)
There is another Montecatini in Emilia Romagna, but I have only the information on the Montecatini city in Tuscany.

Great Information on the units that were in the Montecatini area. I think maybe only two units on that list maybe a possible match. 3 PGD Grenadier Regt 8 (mot) or Panzer Abteilung 504
