StuGIII Great Photos!!! May I suggest picking up a German/English Dictionary....it's an excellent learning tool. I refer to mine a lot and you can easily sort out the more common sayings and greetings that are standard on many of these portraits instead of continually asking for translations. That is if they aren't written in old German which I cannot read myself. Bill

Hi Bill,

Thanks to the people on this board, I have been able to recognize a few simple words. However, most of the writing is in old German, which neither of us can read. So, when that happens, I need to ask for someone to translate. Also, one has to take into account the persons writing ability. If their writing is bad, it makes trying to read what they said even more difficult.
