I believe this soldat was a member of the Afrika Korps, though I'm not sure.

I believe this soldat was a member of the Afrika Korps, though I'm not sure.

The open collar gives that initial impression but the soldier is wearing the standard wool M-40 service tunic with an M-43 field cap. Probably a Pz. Gren. due to the PAB in bronze, who knows; maybe he served in the DAK earlier in the war.
