Gauleiter der Bayerischen Ostmark - Fritz Wächtler

Here is a signed portrait of Fritz Wächtler the Gauleiter der Bayerischen Ostmark. I'm told he is wearing the first pattern Gauleiter collar tabs.

He was created SS Obergruppenführer in 1944.

This photo is signed. It looks like a real signature. See the smudge on the F.

What happened to him when the war ended? Anyone know?

Nice portrait of Father & Sons.....I noticed that the son in SS uniform has his tabs penciled or inked out...have you tried an eraser to gently remove?
