                      Hi Bill,

Any idea who this KC recipient was?

                        John,

I have no clue as there is nothing written on the reverse side of the postcard except Mimosa and the studio name Photo Gurner Bismarckplatz 8

                        Bill

Thanks for the quick response Bill. I was just wondering. Sad that a brave soldiers identity is possibly lost to history simply due to not writing a name down.

                              Hi George,

Thanks for the identification of this brave officer.

                                John,

Although I appreciate the quick response from George I always like to double check sources on whether this is really Johannes Eisermann. I've seen too many brave men mis-identified on WAF.

                                George,

Nothing against you but do you have a photo ID that you can post that matches my portrait? or any other reference that verifies that this is in fact Oberst Eisermann.

In the meantime....Here is some info gleaned from wikipedia

                                <TABLE class="wikitable sortable" id=sortable_table_id_0 style="WIDTH: 100%"><TBODY><TR><TD>Eisermann, Johannes</TD><TD>Heer</TD><TD>Oberst</TD><TD>Infanterie-Regiment 156 (mot.)</TD><TD>01942-08-25 25 August 1942</TD><TD>—

                                </TD><TD>—

                                </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

To my understanding IR (mot) 156 in 1940-42 was under the 16th Motorized Infantry Division...renamed 16th Panzer Grenadier Division in 1943 and reorganized in 1944 as the 116th Panzer Division.
