Both units wore the same orientale arm badge.

Bill, I'd say these are 11. Felddivision troops in Greece.
Maybe - just maybe- the fellows in flight suits are from the same unit, possibly at a later date. They were as I recall grouped together as an auction, although of course that does not mean anything.
Thanks for posting all of these!

Aris,
I'm not familiar with DAL so thank you for the information. I need to do a little research when I have time. Bill
Originally posted by Aris Kosionidis View PostI'd suggest the Deutsch-Arabische Lehrabteilung. As I recall, a few more photos from the same batch were of a barracks or HQ building. They were flying an "Arab" flag and the look was very much like Greece- part of the DAL was stationed in Cape Sounion near Athens for a time. The German personel of the DAL came from the Sonderverbande.

Aris,
Thanks again...LWFD is just as good. I originally thought they may have been HG in Italy as it was common practice for the HG flak units to wear the light weight summer flight suits. There is another group of photos of the same unit coming my way. again I need to check out the 11th LWFD. I'm not sure if those photos have any connection to the other group that you mention but I will keep that in mind. Bill
