Here's a nice photo of an officer. Not sure of his rank.

              Unusual sleeve marking

Here's a soldier with an unusual sleeve patch. Could someone identify the patch?

                    Gefreiter with Krim Shield

Here's a Gefreiter with I believe the Krim Shield on his sleeve. Too bad the photographer cut that part of the sleeve off. There's a date stamped on back. June 10, 1943 or 1943. the stamp wasn't too good.

                      Luftwaffe enlisted man

Hi here's a Luftwaffe enlisted man. He appears to have the IC2 and a badge of some sort. Could someone tell me his rank and what the badge over his left pocket is? Is it an aircrewman badge of some sort?

He is an unteroffizier and the badge is the short range night fighter clasp in either silver or gold.

#4392 - Driver badge (strange collar and shoulderboard litzen)

                        #4396 - "Greetings from France"

                          Driver patch 4392

                          Hi Leroy,

Thanks for the help. What do you find strange about the drivers collar and shoulderboard litzen? With the driver patch, would that make him a truck driver? What rank do you think he is? I wish the writing on the back of that photo hadn't faded out like it has.

He's a recently promoted NCO (you can still see the "V" shape of his previous rank patch on the sleeve). Maybe that's why the litzen is about half the usual
width (he used whatever he found lying around).

He didn't have to be a truckdriver at all. The driver badge came in 3 grades (bronze, silver, gold) representing levels of achievement. He could have been the driver of about anything.
