Here's a soldier of the 514th Infantry Regiment. Anyone know what sort of service the 514th did? Like what battles etc.?

Hello John,

IR 514 was part of 294. Inf.Division (a saxonian Division). My grandfather was one of them, too. IR 514 was foundet in Döbeln. 1940 they were in Belgium, Bordeaux etc. ... 1941 Balkan (Jugoslavia) an South Russia ... until summer 1944 they fought in South Russia/ukrainian area (Kiew,Charkow,Don,Stalino,Saporoshje, destroyed in Kishinew).
