    Rommel near Ouistreham a week before D-Day.....

    Hi guys,

    Here is a very nice original shot with Rommel during inspections at Lion-Sur-Mer (Normandy)

    1 - Rommel

    2 - Heinrich Meyer-Buerdorf (General der Artillerie, OB West (Heeresgruppe D))

    3 - ?

    4 - Alfred Jacob (General der Pioniere und Festungen im Oberkommando des Heeres (OKH), Ritterkreuz des KVK)

    5 - Hans von Salmuth (General 15th Army)

    6 - Franz-Josef Högl ? Major 21 pz Div, futur DkG.

    7 - Friedrich Dihm (German Generalleutnant of the Artillery and assigned special duties with Army Group B)

                    yes i was pretty sure you saw it, very nice website indeed.

                    I tried to check for Mister N°3, but i was unlucky.
                    I suspect that it may have been one officer of the artillery units present that day ?

                        the glue remains of the accompanying caption on the back is a good proof imo that the picture is original.
                        Fascinating picture indeed.

                        I do not have any book on the 21. Panzer-Division, but if i have the time, i may try to check my 39/45 Magazine collection to see if i can find this officer...
