Panzer rgt "1oo"

Hello fellow collectors!

I have a pair of black/pink panzer slip-on marked "100". As I have understod this was the number of a pz rgt. Anybody anything about this rgt?
Since the slip-ons are very easy to find, I figured out that they were not given out in big quanties? Any info at all will help!

Cheers
Øyvind

Hi Øyvind, here is some info taken from:

http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...rzeichnis1.htm
Panzer-Regiment 100

Aufgestellt am 22. Dezember 1941 durch die Umbenennung der Panzer-Abteilung 100 zur I./Panzer-Regiment 100. Am 5. Februar 1942 wurde die Abteilung zur Panzer-Abteilung Groß-Deutschland.

Neu aufgestellt am 8. Dezember 1942 als Regimentsstab. Am 8. Januar 1943 wurde eine II. Abteilung aufgestellt, ein eI. Abteilung folgte am 10. Januar 1943. Am 20. Mai 1944 wurde das Regiment in Panzer-Regiment 22 umbenannt.

Cheers, Ade.

Hello Adrian, and thanks for the ultra fast reply (as always).
So this meen that the slip-ons I have must have been used before 5 of february 1942? And that these were not used during the time under "GD"? Right?

Cheers

Hi Øyvind, yes I can agree with that.

I have a pair of these which came from the ex Brian Davis collection, as usual mint unissued.

Cheers, Ade.

Yep, all these were found in mint shape, right? Have never seen them on period photos, have you?

Cheers

Hi Øyvind, yes always mint, but I think I have seen one original photo of them being worn? It was on the forum. It might have been in the thread on show your Panzer soldiers photos?

Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for the tip. I went through the thread but could not find the "100" rgt slip on. Found another photo with slip on, but it was not for the "100" rgt. I wont give up the search

Cheers

I must have been mistaken on that? But I would love to see a photo too, so keep us informed if you find one .

They were definitely not used after the Panzer Abteilung GD was expanded to a Regiment (to the extent there is no photograpic evidence and it would not have made sense).

I support the idea that stores of these were found unissued and that the vast, if not all, of those in collections today (including my own) are of these unissued variety.
