I am curious as to the identity of the SS grenadier pictured at Poteau Bel. during the Ardennes Offensive. I am sorry that I cannot post pic, but this is one of the most famous pics to emerge from this action. He is the heavily armed 1SS man with a bandolier around neck and a Bel. Browning pistol. He appears on the dust jacket of Pallud's "The Battle of the Bulge, Then and Now". Just wondering if he survived the battle and was recognized. Thanks
