    Help with signature

    Gents,

Can't work this one out.......the stamp is for 11. Sicherungs-Division but it is signed by Korvettenkapitän und Kommandant indicating it is not signed by the Divisionschef which at that time was Kapitän zur See Walther Berger DKiG.

The Soldbuch holder was on a Dampfer then 33. Marine-Bordflak-Abteilung and lastly 11. Sicherungs-Division. Of course Bordflak units were seconded to shipping per voyage...there are also FP stamps for 2. U-Jagd-Flottillen-Kommando and 2. Geleit-Flottillen-Kommando which were both under 11. Sicherungs-Division.
    2. U-Jagd-Flottille was commanded by Kapitänleutnant Fritz Vollheim DKiG and 2. Geleit-Flottille by Korvettenkapitän Friedrich-Wilhelm Thorwest RK at the time.

It looks more like Vollheim rather than Thorwest, however Vollheim doesn't appear to have been promoted to Korvettenkapitän!

    Vollheim, Friedrich. Kapitänleutnant z.V.
Kommandant eines UJägers in der 21. Unterseebootsjagdflottille
    8.10.1943 Deutsches Kreuz in Gold

    Thorwest, Friedrich-Wilhelm. Korvettenkapitän
    2. Geleitflottille
    5.11.1944 Ritterkreuz

    Any opinions?

    Thanks,
    Ian
