Hi,
I recently bought this Cartes de Visite of Fritz Arndt. Fritz was a sailor on board the SMS Pommern, which was lost with all hands at the Battle of Jutland on June 1, 1916. Fritz, however, died on April 6, 1916, almost two months before the Battle of Jutland. According to the Volksbund website, he is buried in Vladso, Belgium. Does anyone know if the SMS Pommern was involved in any fighting on April 6, 1916? I suppose Fritz could have died from disease or an accident on board the ship. Does anyone know how I could go about finding this man's military records? Information on the SMS Pommern is somewhat scarce on the internet.
Thanks,
Ted
