    Trying to find the Soldat who owned this collection.

    Hi all, I was hoping that someone with ties in Deutschland could help me find out who this man is. I acquired this grouping a while ago and have yet to dig up who this fine officer was.

    This grouping was found all together in none other than upstate New York! Quite a rare find if I may say so myself considering this had to travel transatlantic and then survived so many years. It was found in a house that someone was cleaning out and I was contacted with the find. This officer was in IR122.

      Why don't you ask the house clearer in NY for the address of the house? Punch that address into a search engine and you might find the name of the old German owner. You have a lot of pieces of the puzzle already (his DOB, unit, first initial of his surname, his home address when he died, etc.), so it should not be too hard. Trying to identify him through his dog-tag number is one of the most difficult routes.
