Gentlemen,
On page 288 on "The Face Of Courage" by Florian Berger it said that Waldemar Lehmann was born in Palatowka (Volga Republic) on 29 April 1913 under another name. He was the son of a Russian worker. I think that perhaps Waldemar and his family were Volga-Germans. I don't know how the author said or found out about Waldemar Lehmann's "another name". I know that Waldemar Lehmann had to undergo a backgroud check by the German authories before he was suitable to join the peacetime German Army in 1931. Does anybody had an answer to my puzzling question?
Sincerely,
Edward L. Hsiao
