Hi Dave,
The 33 I.R was organized on Oct.15.1935 in Dessau and subordinated to the 13. Infanterie Division.
From Oct.18.1939 on, subordinated to the 4.Panzer Division.
Renamed to Schuetzen Regiment 33 on April 2.1940 and again renamed to Panzer Grenadier Regiment 33 on July 5.1942.

Fought with the 4. Pz.Div. in France 1940-1941.
Fought in Russia under Army Group Center & Army Group B near Orel / Kursk, Ukraine, Poland, Kurland from 1942 until the end of the war.
The Regiment was since 1939 subordinated to the 4.Pz.Div.
There is a lot of information on the internet about the 4.Pz.Div.

Hi Dave,
I'm glad I could help a little. If you need specific Information to a certain time frame during your research, let me know. I do have quiet some info for the time summer 1942 to summer 1943. My Grandfather was 1.Bataillon Commander in this regiment until he got wounded and had to leave his Bataillon.
