    Army general to identify

Just got this nice portrait of an army general and KC-holder.

If possible I would like to know his name, if by chance anybody had seen the face before. Unfortunately no other information as just this photo.

But regardless of his name, he has a strange way of fixing his knight's cross:

It looks like he uses a rope or something.

And another interesting feature of this photo - I can not recall ever having seen a general covering his shoulder-boards for camouflage purpose.

And last - he is not wearing a general's great coat.

    Kind regards
    Robert

          ...

          Hallo, Robert.

Very happy that I could assist. I have the faces and names of countless military and political figures of the Third Reich tattooed to the inside of my eyelids, so I need only close my eyes and-- but seriously, just remembered the photo and ID from Bender/Odegard's Panzertruppe book (R.J. Bender Publishing, 1980).

          Best wishes,
          ~ Mike Miller / ABR

            Robert.

I think the RK hanger has been retouched.

The thing I like best about that photo is the cap eagle!!

It looks like one of these Hollywood mock-ups from the '50s!!

Just goes to show that even Generals wore sub-standard bits from time to time.

Note also that he's wearing captured British anti-gas goggles, of the type favoured by Rommel.

            As always, another great picture.

            Robin.
