I was told by a German veteran that units in training contained more men then combat units. He said a company was made up of 3 Zug's with 60 men each. With the officers and other staff, there were over 200 men per company according to him, as opposed to the 120 (?) of a normal company.
I think reserve regiments also had 3 battalions as opposed to 2 battalions in combat regiments.
Can anybody confirm that this is true?
