I have a question, I know what a SchiffsStammAbt is and think to know what the Marineunteroffizierslehrabteilung was.
Am I correct to state that both are for teaching the basic military skills to it's attendants. The S.St.A were Sailors and the MLA for NCO's.
So far so good?
Today I recieved the last 4 pictures form a lager lot from a group of KM personel in Breda, to my suprise on some pictures on the backside is written: 2e gruppe, MLA 3/14SSTA Breda Holland, others just with MLA.
I'm a thousend percent sure all pictures are taken in Breda.
I took a very close look on the guys up front, all of them are gefreiter or obergefreiter and some of them are wering minesweeperbadges, woundedbadges etc. Obviously these guys were not new in the business, right?!
So now is my qeustion (2), is it correct to state that these guys were unterofficier anwarter and a Coy of the 14.S.St.A served as MLA? or do I make a missinterpetation now?
any help is appreciated!
