I am looking for information on Generalmajor Hans Bessel. I found great information on Axis Biographical Research.Generalmajor Hans Bessel

Born: 24 February 1893 in Magdeburg.

He was appointed in 15 June 1942 - Higher Engineering Officer 2
And in 4 March 1943 - appointed Commander of German Verb. Staff in Italy, Army High Command 8

Were was Higher Engineerofficer 2 located?

I scanned some pages from his military records. Is Higher Engineering Officer 2 an honorary tittle or was an actual position?
I scanned some of his military records. I assume he was stationed near Koln as he tailored his uniform from a Koln tailor

"Höherer Pionieroffizier 2" - Higher Enigineering Officer 2 - was the title of a position in the Army.

Since 15 Oct 1935 this position was created. The former title was "Pionier- und Nachrichteninspizient 2". These so called "Höhere Waffenoffiziere" have been responsable for the "technische und kampftechnische Ausbildung" (sorry cannot translate this) of their troops.
